We’re thrilled to announce the launch of anCnoc blas in Sweden as we exclusively offer our friends on social media and visitors to our blog the opportunity to reveal the whiskies hidden Systembolaget Article Number and purchase one of just 130 Limited Edition bottles of whisky now available in Sweden.
But first an introduction to our latest release.
The appropriately named ‘blas’ pays homage to the most enjoyable part of whisky appreciation – the taste. Matured in both Spanish and American oak, and has been bottled in its most natural form, neither chill-filtered nor coloured. Each drop offers an initial burst of warm lemon tart, notes of rum raisins and dark chocolate followed by a long and satisfying finish with a bitter-sweet cocoa aftertaste.
Beyond the whisky itself the design featured on-pack was created by award-winning Scottish-born fashion designer, Patrick Grant. Patrick crafted the design to embody everything anCnoc represents; its Highland home, rich heritage and the spirit of A Modern Tradition. For example;
- The design features boots found in the Kiln room at Knockdhu which represent the Men of Knock. A team that make up one of the smallest workforces in any working distillery. It is their passion that helps make anCnoc the whisky it is today
- ‘Cu’ symbol was suggested to Patrick by an anCnoc fan on Twitter to represent the copper pot stills that are so vital in giving anCnoc its light, fresh and accessible taste profile
- The sacks of bungs that sit at the top of the kiln room are also featured and highlight the traditional processes still carried out at our Knockdhu distillery
- In fact every detail even down to the colourful design brings the traditional elements of our approach to crafting fine single malt alive with an unmistakable modern twist.
